Statistics About Penile Cancer

statistics
Statistics show what happens with large groups of people, but no two people are alike.

Some people use statistics to try to figure out their chances of getting cancer or of being cured. It is important to remember, however, that statistics show what happens with large groups of people. Because no two people are alike, statistics cannot be used to know or predict what will happen to you.

These are some 2007 statistics from the American Cancer Society about penile cancer.

  • About 1,300 men will be diagnosed with penile cancer in the United States.

  • Penile cancer occurs in about one man out of 100,000 in the United States.

  • In Europe and North America, penile cancer is very rare and makes up for only 0.2% of all cancers.

  • Penile cancer is more common in parts of Africa and South America, where penile cancer makes up for 10% of cancers in men.

  • An estimated 300 men will die from penile cancer in the United States
