Potential Side Effects From Surgery for Liver Cancer

After surgery, you may have pain in the area where the surgery was performed. This is normal and should not last long. Your surgeon will discuss with you other risks of the surgery. These are some of the most common other risks.

  • Wound infection

  • Bleeding during or after surgery that may require blood transfusions

  • Damage to the liver and blood vessels during surgery
